Working with EDLs in CatDV
If you import an edit decision list or other file that contains sequence information (such as an OMF file) CatDV will create a special sequence clip that represents the sequence.
You can view sequences using a special timeline or sequence view, and if the media is available you can play or export the sequence as a movie. You can also export sequences as a CMX EDL.
Although CatDV doesn’t aim to be an editing application you can also create your own sequence of clips by assembling existing clips into a sequence.
The View Tape As Sequence command gives you a convenient way to visualise the contents of an entire tape.
Sequences and Clips can then be exported to your preferred editing package.
